What it does

  • 01

    This week, specifically

Not a generic month-by-month chart. Eight questions at the start, then a focus and a plan for the week your baby is actually in.

  • 02

    Do and know

Each stage splits into a checklist of things to actually do and the knowledge behind it — including the red flags that mean stop reading and call someone.

  • 03

    SOS

Crying, fever, choking, feeding. Reachable in one tap, written for someone holding a baby in one arm at four in the morning.

  • 04

A coach that stays in the room

Ask a question in your own words and get an answer from Apple's on-device model. Photograph a formula tin or a medicine label and the text is read on your phone. Nothing is uploaded.

  • 05

    On the home screen

A widget with the day's one thing, and a morning card. Small enough to be read between other obligations.

Privacy, in full

Nothing leaves your device. Everything you tell the app about your baby stays on the phone.

Everything that leaves your device

Nothing. This app makes no network requests.

  • Information about your baby's feeding, sleep and development is health information, and it is treated as such: it is never transmitted, and there is nowhere for us to receive it even if we wanted to.
  • The AI coach runs on Apple's on-device model. On devices that cannot run it, the app falls back to the written guidance rather than sending anything away.
  • Notifications are scheduled locally by the app. There is no push server.
  • Best Dad is guidance, not medical advice. It does not diagnose, and every serious section points you to a clinician.

Where your content lives

Your baby's details, your answers and your progress are stored on the device. There is no account, no cloud sync and no server-side copy.

Analytics

None. No usage statistics, crash reports or telemetry are collected.

Permissions it asks for

Photos
Attaching a picture of a label so the Coach can read it. The text is extracted on your device and the image is never uploaded.

AI disclosure

The coach generates text with a language model. It can be wrong. It is not a doctor, a midwife or a nurse, and it is not a substitute for one. Nothing you type is used to train any model.
